New York, New York...

Last week, my dad, brother, and I took a trip to New York City for the day. I love the city: the pretty lights, the stores, the fashion, the museums, the giant, architecturally stunning buildings, what’s not to love?! Sure, there are tons of people, but that’s part of the experience. This was my fourth time being in NYC, so I had seen it before, but there’s so much to see and do there, you can always find something new, exciting and interesting. Here are some pictures I took along the way.
My outfit of the day:
Purple flowered dress (Target), pink sweater (?), black leggings (Lane Bryant), silver sandals (Target), and jewelry (you can't see it well in this picture but it's from Forever 21)

Random NYC pictures:

Broadway! :)

We went to the Museum of Modern Art. I had never been there before and I figured it would be an interesting thing to see. I've been to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which has more ancient art, a few times and I absolutely love it, so I figured I should try a different museum this time. I liked some of the works I saw there by artists I was already familiar with like Picasso, Monet, and Andy Warhol...but some of the more modern, abstract art is not really for me. A string on a wall or a blank canvas is not really a work of art in my book, but to each his/her own. :)

There was an exhibit on women in film that I found interesting.

I'm not sure what this Barney-purple contraption is, but it was so odd I had to take a picture.

A strange hole??
Here's a few of Picasso's paintings/drawings.

This piece is really neat looking...it reminds me of a Pokémon! Haha!
The MOMA book store had tons of really interesting art books: some on fashion, animation, movies, etc. I spent a while in there :)
A blow up chair? There were a few rooms full of furniture, old televisions, record players, etc. I suppose it's to show future generations things you don't see anymore...but the blow up chair is random! ;)

This is an old Vespa. My dad was excited to see this. :)

Here's something I was excited to find, the Marilyn Monroe painting by Andy Warhol.

What is painting? :
I thought this piece was pretty and interesting.
A strange cat:

This is part of Monet's "Water Lilies." It was gorgeous and giant in person, the picture is blurry because I couldn't use flash in the museum.

I love Times Square!

Ooo! Looks like I need to go back in the fall, they're putting a new Disney store there! :)
I love the giant, three-story Forever 21. It's so pretty, I would have taken more pictures but I wasn't allowed.
We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, which is really neat. There's tons of music paraphernalia inside like suits the Beatles wore, famous musicians' guitars, old records, etc.

The Beatles! :)

I wish I could have seen Mary Poppins!
My brother and I:
I bought a few things: a glass from the Hard Rock Cafe,
this pretty Vogue picture I got from a street vendor,
and a Makeup Forever lipstick from Sephora.
Thanks for reading this long post, I love taking pictures and get a little carried away. These were only a few of the ones I took, there were 200 in all (in just one day, lol). I love New York City! Has anyone visited NYC before or live there? Tell me your favorite thing to see or do there below. What do you think about modern art or the Museum of Modern Art? Comment and let me know.
